King Arimatta and his son Jongal Balahu is shrouded in mystery and many legends cluster round them. Arimatta , a local adventurer, subdued the Bar Bhuyans and then occupied Kamata in 1365-85 A.D. Arimatta`s name is also associated in a Nishi legend related to the Hita fort in present Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.
