the headquarter of Karbi Anglong district of Assam, about 213km by rail fro Guwahati and located at 25°50′N 93°26′E / 25.83°N 93.43°E / 25.83; 93.43 This small but beautiful hilly town is the home of indigenous communities like the Karbis. It has a campus of the Assam University, a Civil Hospital, a government college and many schools.
